What is timu

timu (“team” in Swahili) is a publishing platform launched by the <ahref Foundation as a service for individuals, groups and organizations willing to contribute to civic media content and development.

While the main feature of our project is to apply a common research method, the platform itself provides:

• a shared method to gather information;
• assurance that content is the property of those who post it;
• a personal profile and domain name;
• the chance to take part in (and win) award contests and collaborative inquiries; 
• an opportunity to learn together;
• direct exposure to major media outlets.
